Bold Nominee has the conformation, bone and temperament of a European Warmblood with the athletic talent and bravery of his Thoroughbred lineage. He began his jumping career late, after demonstrating that he had no interest in racing. As an 8 year old, shown under the name “Centsible”, he finished the year Central Florida Hunter Jumper 1st Year Green Conformation Champion and Reserve Champion of the 1st Year Green Division. He competed lightly as a 2nd Year Green Conformation and under his owner was CFHJA Reserve Champion Amateur-Owner Hunter.
Unfortunately due to a freak accident he lost the sight in his left eye and was forced to retire from the hunter ring to stand stud at Ridge Point. After some re-grouping to determine how the lose of the eye would affect his performance, Bold Nominee resumed his show career in the Jumper ring. Piloted, first by amateur rider, Mike Gallagher and later by junior, Meredith Gallagher he competed successfully in spite of his visual handicap.
