I, Gabriella, bought Mercury as a skinny pasture horse four years ago. Unknowing that he would become a big peice of my life. I spend everyday with him at the barn for at least an hour a day taking care and riding him. He's been taught many things in the time I've owned him. When he was used as a lesson horse, to teach the little children to groom, bathe, tack, and ride, he learned how to put his head down for the kids. He isnt barn sour, he's plenty capable of lunging little children, he has decent ground manners, and most importantly a love for kids. Never have i ever seen him try to bite for food or get agressive to anything other than abuse. Hes easy to care for and has never had any fatal injurries or serious problems, other than cribbing, which he doest do with his collar is on. He is updated on all of his vaccinations, testing, and is registered as 'gee billy' in the american paint horse association. For a while i had four shoes on him for competition, but over time it wasnt in need and they subracted to two fronts, then barefoot. he's doing very well barefoot and has even been competing at some schooling shows to get him off the property. He is bomproof as well. Mercury will never flat out refuse a jump, which made him best at what he does: jumpers and hunters. For a pony, his strides reach to a horse size, if not a little larger. When he does anything, he uses his back, even lunging with just a lunge line! He is extremely kind to other horses and even goes out with a 2 year old thoroughbred and a 16+ hh friesian. He is trail safe and knows a bit of neck rein. He has the smoothest gait you can imagine and will alwaysget on the trailor, it just takes some patience. Everyone i know thinks he is the cutest thing ever and i hope you agree. Please feel free to email me for more information.
